The Foundation for Monterey County Free Libraries’ annual Words & Wine event offers a festive opportunity to support local literacy programs in our county libraries. Each year, our event features a published author to share inspiring stories and highlight the power of literacy in a fun and entertaining way. This dinner event is packed with auctions, entertainment, fabulous food and a variety of wines. All proceeds go toward supporting the county libraries’ free literacy programs, which reach over 48,000 individuals annually through free Homework Centers, free Summer Reading Programs, and free Online tutoring services.

To make this event a success, we are seeking volunteers who are willing to assist with a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for our guests. When volunteering for the Words & Wine event, volunteers can expect to complete tasks including serving food, clearing tables, assist with the silent auction, be a spotter during the live auction and fund-a-need auction, and other activities as needed.
