ORGANIZATION: Little Sisters of the Poor - Mullen Home for the Aged

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 15 people are interested

Mullen Home has been a staple of Denver’s history for over 100 years by providing a high tier of care to the elderly and aging community. As a nonprofit organization, the Home relies on donations and support from volunteers within our local community.

At Mullen Home, we are seeking the support of volunteer photographers to help tell the 100 year story of our mission and service to Denver. The Home is an actual home to almost 70 elderly residents and numerous Sisters.

There are many unique things happening at our Home and we are seeking support to document and capture this. If you are interested in learning more about the Home and volunteering as a photographer please contact us! Ideally, volunteers would be able to commit to an ongoing schedule, as needed.

About Mullen Home for the Aged:

Mullen Home is managed by the Little Sisters of the Poor, an international congregation of Roman Catholic religious women at the service of the elderly poor of every race and religion. Founded in France in 1839 by Saint Jeanne Jugan, the Little Sisters administer homes for the aged, where they welcome older men and women of low-income regardless of race, religion, creed, sex, or national origin. The Little Sisters of the Poor receive no financial support from the Catholic Church and must rely on monetary donations from Foundation and Individual sources to ensure continuous operations.

Mullen Home has continually served Denver’s aging community since 1917. The level of care offered at Mullen Home is unsurpassed in the Denver region and features occupational and physical therapy, social services and rehabilitation, dietary services and prescribed therapeutic diets, and onsite medical, dental, and eye care facilities for the on-going assessments of Residents’ needs. The Little Sisters of the Poor live in the home and are available to the Residents twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. A staff of professional men and women and over 100 volunteers support the Little Sisters’ attentive care and selfless mission.
