Essential Functions
Grants:
- Conduct in-depth research on funding possibilities for programs and initiatives.
- Contribute significantly to source identification, feasibility analysis, and the proposal drafting process.
- Assist with development of program-specific grant proposals
- Assist with grant writing, grant management, funding opportunity research, resource research
Development and Fundraising:
- Work with Development team and assist with fundraising, producing events, analyzing strategic plans
- Assist with planning and implementation of fundraising events
- Assist with data entry and database management
- Research donor prospects and granting organizations, attend strategic meetings, help to plan sponsorship benefits and distribute marketing materials.
Public Relations:
- Assist with general public relations.
- Manage communication tools- emails, social media, newsletters, and community presentations
- Assist with community outreach, including building relationships with professionals, updating client information and referral database, and presentations within the community
Skills Gained Include:
- Learning successful grant-writing techniques and gaining development cooperation.
- Learning about how a non-profit secures funding
- Provide an inside look at the day-to-day operations of a non-profit as well as the strategic decision making inherent in the responsibilities of an Executive Director.
- Making connections with business leaders in the community
- Increasing communication skills- written and oral.
Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills:
- Technical Skills- Sound knowledge of MS Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms
- Good organization skills
- Commitment to non-profits and the purpose of the organization
- Ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication
- Positive attitude
- Dependable and punctual team player
- Ability to work with the public in a professional manner
Physical Requirements:
Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching, sitting, standing, walking and keyboarding; carry up to 40 pounds

Description
Established in 1987, the Emergency Care Help Organization (E.C.H.O.) of Brandon is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community emergency food and disaster relief organization. Families who are having trouble making ends meet are given food, clothing, and household items assistance. E.C.H.O. provides help to Greater Brandon area single parents, homeless persons, retirees, families in transition, under-employed and unemployed households, grandparents raising grandchildren and others in need.
