Uhuru Foods & Pies is looking for Shop Coordinators to volunteer during our campaign for 10,000 Pies for Black Power Blue Print from the end of October through December.

Summary of Qualifications: Under the supervision of the Operations Coordinator, the Shop Coordinator purchases ingredients and supplies for all Uhuru Foods & Pies work and maintains inventory control.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains inventory of all ingredients and supplies using inventory sheets on clipboard at each storage location, and making current digital copies available online.
• Purchases all ingredients and supplies weekly, according to written shop order, at designated locations. Totals ingredients and supplies for all Uhuru Foods & Pies activities, subtracting inventory on hand and determining final shop
• Sources shops and schedules shops to all locations
• Makes phone orders to suppliers to secure ingredients in a timely manner.
• Works to reduce costs and maintain/increase quality of purchases.
• Works with Market, Fair, Production and Pie Coordinators to ensure accurate inventory and shop orders.
• Investigates new sources and makes cost comparisons as needed.
• Maintains and updates list of sources and prices.
• Ensure that all ingredients and equipment are in place when needed and that all foods are transported and stored onsite according to health standards.
• Maintains cold and dry storage areas to be organized and accessible at all times.

Qualifications

• Possess a current driver’s license; access to large personal vehicle a plus

Physical Requirements: include but are not limited to lifting of up to 50 lbs.
