What happens when you move into a new home? Usually it results in a trip to your nearest big-box retailer to purchase a long list of basic items needed for your new space. However, for families exiting homelessness, a trip like this is out of reach.
That’s why United Way will bring together hundreds of volunteers across the Twin Cities to assemble "welcome home" kits for individuals and families exiting homelessness. The kits contain nearly 70 basic household items and will be used by United Way nonprofit partners working to place families in stable housing.
There are two shifts: 9 - 11:30 am and 1:30 - 4 pm. Signup at gtcuw.org/homeforgood
