Connect People Experiencing Homelessness to Resources
The Heading Home Anoka Housing Collaborative is hosting an event to help the homeless: Anoka Community Connect - Building Opportunities, Strengthening Communities.
The event will start at 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on October 25th at Church of St. Timothy, 707 89th Ave. NE Blaine. The goal of Anoka Community Connect is to provide 100 guests who may be struggling with homelessness, or are previously housed, the opportunity to be connected to resources and services they need to thrive.
Haircuts, wellness checks, resume building, application assistance for benefits and childcare, and a job fair where employers will hire people on the spot are some of the services that will be offered.
The Salvation Army and other partners will provide transportation - stops will be made around the county at public buildings to ensure everyone who wants to attend has a way to get to the event.
Visit: www.anokacommunityconnect.weebly.com for more information on Anoka Community Connect or to sign up as a volunteer. People who volunteer at this event can help with setup or takedown, direct traffic, greet visitors, help attendees through the event, hand out box lunches and aid with general cleanup.
