Purpose: Assist staff in performing timely processing of deposits, check requests, recording of electronic transactions, and reconciliation of financial records.
Location: Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice, 1414 Hill St., Ann Arbor MI 48103
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare bank deposits
- Record online transactions in organization’s accounting software (Quickbooks)
- Process check requests
- Research accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies and present to staff to address
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Update training materials and documentation of bookkeeping processes as needed
- Process regular payroll functions
Qualifications:
The candidate must have:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- The ability to follow established procedures
- A willingness to ask for help to ensure accuracy in entering transactions and following procedures
- The ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Solid reliability and organizational skills
- A high school degree
The ideal candidate will have:
- The ability to problem solve and troubleshoot basic financial/accounting issues
- Quickbooks experience
- An understanding of basic accounting procedures
- Previous bookkeeping experience
- Some college courses
Training and Staff Support: Training will be provided. ICPJ’s Director and Administrative and Program Support Specialist will assign tasks and be available to answer questions and provide guidance and direction.
