This is an AmeriCorps service position for the PartnerCorps STEM grant program with Partners for Education at Berea College. AmeriCorps members serve in one of three high schools in Madison County, KY. Members commit to a full-time, 10 to 11-month service period. Members serve within Algebra I, II, and Geometry courses at the high school sites to provide in-class tutoring and assistance, conduct after school tutoring for targeted students needing more assistance, and perform as "Check and Connect" mentors to a caseload of "at risk" students who are in the math classes to which they are assigned. Members promote a college-going culture and act as STEM advocates to provide information on STEM careers to students.
