Community Awareness & Treatment Services, Inc. (CATS) provides comprehensive services to San Francisco's residents through six different programs. We serve those who are experiencing homelessness, poverty, hunger, mental health illnesses, addictions, and other life struggles.

Our Medical Respite & Sobering Center is looking for clean, adult-sized clothing to offer their clients. The Medical Respite program is a partnership between CATS and the Dept. of Public Health that provides about 60 respite beds and medically oriented support services. This program does not have the staff to sort through the clothes and clean them, especially because some of the donated items are extremely dirty or have needles hidden in the piles.

We are looking for some people to collect and donate clothes - how you do so is up to you! Some ideas would be to hold a clothing drive in your home, collect donations from your local church or school or donate some of your own clothing. All items must be adult sized and washed and folded.

Description

OUR ORGANIZATIONAL VISION
We envision a San Francisco where everyone who has lost the ability to care for themselves is given the support they need to gain control of their own lives. There will be no homeless on the street, those with illness and addiction will be cared for, and everyone will be supported along a path toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

OUR GOALS
At Community Forward SF, we strive to:

  • Extend a helping hand to every homeless person in the San Francisco who has lost the ability to care for him or herself.
  • Help the majority of our clients achieve stability and establish permanent housing.

  • Provide our clients with the best support possible through innovative, top notch programs that serve as a model to other care providers, extending our impact beyond our immediate community.
