The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum is seeking to fill several volunteer positions. Special Events Volunteers help out with on-site programming throughout the year, ranging from special holiday events to cocktail receptions to historical programming. Our Special Events Volunteers are the face and voice of the museum, and help us work with the public to deliver engaging and dynamic programs.

Qualifications:
- Volunteers must be 18 years or older
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic computer skills (email) required

Shifts are available throughout the year, mainly on weekday evenings and weekends, although we occasionally have weekday afternoon programs.

Benefits: Free admission to many of the museum's public programs; complimentary admission to many NYC museums via Museum ID card

Mission Statement

The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum, the last remaining 19th-century estate in the Bronx’s Pelham Bay Park, is a cultural and educational institution that serves the broader New York City community. The Bartow-Pell Conservancy works to preserve and maintain the historic Greek Revival mansion and carriage house, as well as the museum’s collection, its gardens, and the surrounding landscape, and to interpret the site’s history with innovative and dynamic educational and public programming for schools, adults, and families.

Description

The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum provides school and community programs based in a historic country estate from the nineteenth century. The Museum occupies a unique space in the New York City landscape, and public offerings embrace the history of the site from pre-European settlement to the modern day.
