Celebrating Beautiful Minds Inspire.
"Celebrating Beautiful Minds Inspire Gala" is a dinner, auction and awards ceremony that raises money for education and support programs for people with mental illness and their families.
The Annual Gala celebrates leaders and champions in our community, partnering together to build and enhance sustainable recovery-oriented systems and services that improve lives for families and individuals living with mental illness. This event provides direct funding for family and community education programs that lead to positive life changes and an increase in empowerment for participants, allowing them to more effectively assist and support their loved one with mental illness in their journey toward recovery. The Annual Gala is attended by mental health service providers, hospital partners, educators, corporate sponsors, and ambassadors.
Volunteers needed:
Event Set-up (10) - This is a team of people that help prepare the site for event. There is lifting and bending involved.
Event Host (2) - Welcome guest to the Gala, direct them to coat check area and registration table. No jeans. Men black pants and collared shirt. Women blank pants and blouse or dress
Registration (6)- Welcome guest, give guest seating assignment, bid card number, seating assignment and direct to Give Smart table for auction registration.
Give Smart Registration (4) - Volunteer will receive special training from give smart staff. Register guest in give smart software to bid in both live and silent auction. Direct guest to Casino cocktail hour.
Silent Auction (4) - During silent auction remain in the silent auction are to oversee the displayed items. Oversee items during dinner and awards.
Seating Host (4) - Welcome guest into ballroom and guide them to their tables for dinner.
Live Auction Spotters (12) - Spotters will receive special training from our auctioneer. Volunteers broken up in groups of 2 to be assigned (4) tables to oversee bidders during live auction. Will collect Fund - A - Need card from assigned 4 tables to turn into Give Smart table to process for payment.
Event clean up - At the end of the evening, volunteers will collect everything left in the ballroom

Description
The National Alliance On Mental Illness (NAMI) is a national organization headquartered in Arlington Virginia with affiliates in all 50 states. The St. Louis affiliate was founded in 1978 by families affected by schizophrenia.
An array of programs are offered - most using a peer to peer model. Programs for people with mental illness are led by people who also have a mental illness. Family programs are led by people who have experienced mental illness in their own families.
NAMI believes recovery from mental illness is possible. It advocates for policies, treatments, and supports that improve the likelihood of recovery.
