* IN ORDER TO REGISTER AS A VOLUNTEER FOR THIS EVENT YOU MUST EMAIL MARY.OWENS@RALEIGHNC.GOV *
Join the City of Raleigh as we plant annuals around the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts.
Volunteer Impact: Our Park Staff have to plant all of their annuals in the first two weeks of October. Volunteers will be adding to the man power for us to meet this goal. Their work will also contribute to making our parks more colorful and enjoyable for the community.
Volunteer Duties: Volunteers will use hand trowels to dig holes to plant annuals in our sign beds. We will then lay down some mulch as well.
Work Environment: We will be working outside so there is the possibility of uneven ground. Volunteers will be kneeling, or sitting on the ground and possibly having to bend down to reach into landscape beds. There is a restroom on site.
Volunteer Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer. All volunteers will need to sign a release form. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian sign their form as well.
Special Instructions: Registered volunteers will be sent parking information prior to the event along with the release form.
**Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. If interested in registering a group, please email mary.owens@raleighnc.gov . We require a list of names and their email addresses to hold spots for groups.*
Per department policy this event cannot count towards court-appointed or suggested community service hours.
