Would you like to be part of making an economical, educational and environmental change in New Mexico? Then CAVU needs you!
We are currently searching for volunteers in:
Taos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Las Cruces, Los Alamos, Alamogordo and many more towns around New Mexico.
- New Mexico loses as much as $244 million worth of natural gas per year and tens of millions more in tax and royalty revenue from our education system.
Methane is a powerful greenhouse gas - 86 times more potent than CO2 over 20 years.
- In the last four years, HALF of our nation's methane waste on federal and tribal lands has come from New Mexico.
93% of methane waste in New Mexico is AVOIDABLE.
- Reducing methane emissions from the oil and gas sector is the fastest, most cost-effective way to slow climate change in the short term.
What you will do:
- We need help collecting signatures before January of 2019 for a petition for the next governor
- Assist events and Collect signatures for the Methane Matters Petition.
-Talk with people in your community about the methane issues affecting NM
What we will provide:
- Events where to collect signatures
- Virtual Training on the Subject
- Volunteer support
