ORGANIZATION: The Nature Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo. The Reserve offers varied volunteer opportunities in connection with its diverse recreational, interpretive and stewardship programs. You may volunteer to assist with:

  • Natural history and science field trips for local schools as a field naturalist (ages 18+)
  • Recreation or education programs for the general public
  • Management programs to maintain trails and other Reserve facilities (ages 10+)
  • Restoration programs to upgrade the condition of Reserve lands (ages 10+)
  • Monitoring programs for collection of data and documenting The Reserve’s habitat status
  • Research programs connected with The Reserve’s status as a habitat for native, threatened and endangered species
  • Firewatch to protect The Reserve and its adjacent communities (ages 18+)
  • Summer camp counselors (ages 16+)

Description

The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo-is a growing habitat reserve located on historic Rancho Mission Viejo-is managed by the non-profit Rancho Mission Viejo Land Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is "to preserve and enhance Reserve lands for ecological, educational, charitable, conservation, open space, scientific, and recreational uses." Through our public access and education programs, visitors can experience the natural beauty of South Orange County.
