Become a Companion Volunteer and set your own schedule. Preferred Hospice in Ozark Missouri is currently seeking those special individuals to provide this service for our patients needing companionship and support.
WHO: Preferred Hospice.
WHAT: A Volunteer Companion is simply a friend who visits ( on a regular basis ) with a patient who is receiving hospice. They provide companionship, emotional support, and above all, offer a presence , an ear to listen, or just an understanding smile. You do not provide hands on medical care.
WHEN: You determine your own schedule, either once a week, or every other week, just a few hours a month.
WHERE: You will be visiting with patients in Nursing Home settings,Home, or in Senior Communities.

Description
Preferred Hospice is a Missouri-based company comprised of a multidisciplinary team of Healthcare workers who specialize in end-of-life care. Among the senior team are Physician and Nurses who together bring over 50 years of Healthcare experience. We serve patients within an hour radius of our home office in Ozark Missouri.
Volunteers are essential to the Preferred Hospice Team. Direct Patient Volunteers provide companionship to patients while offering emotional support and comfort. Direct Patient Volunteers may also provide respite and assistance to patient caregivers. Office and Administrative Volunteers assist the office staff with many things from mail outs to data entry. Training, education, and mileage reimbursement is provided.
