Ascend Through Music is Looking for a Pulse Mentor

ORGANIZATION: Living Classrooms Foundation

  • 3 people are interested

In our Pulse initiative, artists work with small group of students, teaching them skills in a creative specialty. Mentors help youth with developing tools to creatively and positively express themselves, expose them to real knowledge about that specialty as a career, and connect with students through that specialty art medium.

During our Open Lab, the goal is to give students an opportunity to match up with a mentor one-to-one, finding someone who works in or has knowledge in the creative field in which the youth shows interest. The youth and the mentor would be match by the Director of Music Programs, then would figure out a time to regularly meet (once a week, once/twice a month) at the lab to be able to have the mentor as a positive guide as they develop their skill and craft. We would love volunteers to help us out for at least an hour once a week from October to mid-December.
