Volunteer Services provides supports the hospital in many ways beyond providing volunteers. It's a busy, friendly office and clerical support including data entry is needed. The impact of having a clerical volunteer is that the Volunteer Director can expand the program to provide more services. It's a great place to volunteer because everyday good people are matched with good deeds. Be a part of the team that helps rebuild lives.
Come in once a week for 2 hours, daytime Monday through Friday. Teens are welcome after school.
It's a creative environment where new ideas are welcome. In addition, there are bulletin boards that need creative attention to showcase volunteers and disseminate information. Making copies and collating are additional tasks.

Description
Hospital for Special Care is a private, not-for-profit, 228 bed Long-Term, Acute-Care hospital licensed by the state of CT. as a chronic disease hospital. The hospital is renowned for its expertise in physical rehabilitation, respiratory care and medically-complex pediatrics. In addition, special programs are available in the treatment of spinal cord injuries and illness, acquired brain injuries, strokes and breathing disorders.
We also provide a full range of outpatient services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, rehabilitation evaluation, neuropsychology and pulmonary rehabilitation programs. The hospital also includes a 27,000 foot Aquatic Rehabilitation Center, which completes the full spectrum of rehabilitation and community fitness activities offered.
We also have a 28 bed satellite facility located within Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT. The satellite serves patients who are medically or surgically complex and/or require specialized care.
