The City of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Santa Barbara Foodbank host weekly Food Distributions at different sites around the community. These distributions are open to those in the community who want access to fresh, healthy, free groceries and produce. Volunteers help unload food from the truck, set up tables, pass out food to participants, recycle boxes, and tear down distribution sites. Volunteers also get access to these free grocery items for themselves and their families. This unique opportunity allows volunteers to work in a dynamic and hands-on environment in direct connection with people in need in their own community.
