TUESDAYS AT 9 AM

Harvest and tend to growing fruits and vegetables at Bread for the City’s orchard in Beltsville, MD. Training provided on site for up to 50 volunteers. (Most volunteers must travel to the site on their own.)

Transportation (advance RSVP required, so sign up at www.breadforthecity.org/volunteer) is available for up to 8 volunteers per session.

Please review the orchard factsheet before arrival. Two waivers are required from each participant: 1) Bread for the City Liability Waiver, and 2) UDC Liability Waiver.

We provide food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty. We seek justice through community organizing and public advocacy. We work to uproot racism, a major cause of poverty. We are committed to treating our clients with the dignity and respect that all people deserve.

Description

Bread for the City offers food and clothing, social services, legal counsel, and medical care at no cost to eligible clients. Anyone living in the District of Columbia who meets income guidelines and other program requirements (such as lack of health insurance) may be eligible for help at Bread for the City.
