Come and join us as a volunteer at the 2018 Superhero 5k! From registration, packet pick-up and post-event refreshments to course marshals and water station, we have an opportunity for everyone. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Description
Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization that envisions a world where every girl* knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams! The ten-week long program for teams of 8-15 participants in 3rd - 8th grade meets weekly for 90 minutes with volunteer coaches (trained by certified GOTR staff) from your community, and combines training for a site-based 5K with a research-based curriculum that promotes critical social-emotional skills at a time when girls need it the most.
*Girls on the Run is a program for all girls: cis-, trans-, gender-nonconforming, and non-binary people who are comfortable in spaces that center the experience of girls. Our council is dedicated to every participant having the same high-quality experience.
