Looking for a group opportunity that makes a life-saving difference? Teams of volunteers from your business, church, school or organization can help the Community Blood Center make calls to remind blood donors of appointments and notify previous donors of upcoming mobile drives in their community.
There is a weekly demand of more than 2,100 units of blood for critically ill patients in our community. These calls help increase donation turnout by at least 30%.
The ideal Phone Bank Volunteer is outgoing and comfortable contacting people on the phone. Up to 15 Blood Donor Phone bank volunteers can help for 1-3 hours in our offices. A brief orientation/training with a call sheet and script will be provided (plus snacks!) Minimum age: 14
We ask each volunteer in the group to commit to a minimum of 3 shifts and/or 10 hours of calling over the space of 6 or more months.
