Foster Grandparent Volunteer
Do you want to make a difference in a child's life? Consider joining the Green Mountain Foster Grandparent Program.
The Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) is a federally funded program that has successfully placed thousands of older adults in nonprofit organizations that serve children nationwide. FGP provides opportunities for volunteers to lend their time, skills, and life experiences to assist children in reaching their potential. Foster Grandparents provide mentoring and role modeling for children of all ages.
Foster Grandparents give anywhere from 15 to 40 hours a week and receive a stipend, monthly in-service trainings, and travel reimbursement. Foster Grandparents are not intended to be a replacement for regular staff, but rather provide an added dimension of one on one attention that contributes to achieving developmentally appropriate skills for children of all ages.
