Wings Aerospace Academy is a blended learning education opportunity for middle and high school students, with a focus on aerospace. Partnered with Elevate Academy, students engage in online learning through Elevate four days a week, then earn elective credits through Wings Over the Rockies focused on aerospace. This includes building an RV12 aircraft, building and flying drones, learning astronomy, coding projects for the International Space Station, and more.
For students who have parents who cannot be at home with their children during the day, the online component of the program can be prohibitive. Wings Over the Rockies established a free computer lab for these students, allowing some students who would not otherwise have access to a program like this the opportunity to thrive. However, we need several volunteers to supplement parent volunteers in the lab in order to keep this program alive. Volunteers would help students stay on track with their core subjects--language arts, social studies, math, and science--and give these students a safe place to learn.

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is a diverse community organization dedicated to unlocking our visitors dreams of flight through exhibitions, events and educational programming. Each year, we welcome roughly 160,000 visitors representing all 50 U.S. states and 28 countries around the world. In addition, Wings Over the Rockies runs Wings Aerospace Academy, a blended learning educational opportunity for students in middle and high school to focus their education on aerospace. Partnered with Elevate Academy, students complete core academics online through Elevate Academy, then earn their elective credits at the museum, focusing on hands-on, experiential learning centered on aerospace.
