Our Bell Ringers are the life blood of our Christmas Kettle Season. The Ringer mans the stand and kettle at it's location, i.e., Publix, Walmart, Bass Pro Shop, Hobby Lobby, Big Lots, etc. We request a commitment of 3 hours per volunteer stint. It is a fun event for families to do together, clubs, friends, school groups, sports teams, church groups. We need your help. Make it fun...wear festive clothes and play Christmas music. If you play an instrument and can play Christmas music, bring it with you. Post on your facebook page and invite your friends to visit and donate....challenge others to ring and have a competition as to who collects the most in their kettle. Have your group sign up for a full day and rotate shifts for an hour or two to fill the day. This is a great way for companies/businesses to support their employees in their volunteer efforts.....split the day among employees at a location convenient to your place of business. Our volunteers are the ARMY behind The Salvation Army and we could not accomplish our programs in social services or disaster response without our Army of Volunteers.
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
The Salvation Army was originally named "The Volunteer Army". That still holds true today. To be effective in our mission we need your talents, time and help to benefit others. Will you volunteer? You will find that there are unseen benefits for you, too. We have year-round and seasonal opportunities.
