This will be a new group. The Leader(s) assisted by the Western Neuropathy President and staff will choose the location, day and time for the meeting. Helps, guidance, and materials will be provided to help the Leader(s) plan the meeting for people with neuropathy and those that care about them. The Leader(s) with assistance as needed will promote the group, invite speakers as works best for the group, and communicate back to the WNA leadership so there is ongoing communication to the benefit of all. Assistance may also be given by other support group leaders in the WNA network. We are looking at the possibility of starting groups as there are locations open to their meeting at that location. Mission Statement
Hope through caring and education - Our mission is to provide support, information and referral to people with neuropathy and to those who care about them, to inform and connect with the health care community and to support research. We need people to serve as group leaders in many communities in the Western States west of the Rocky Mountains.
Description
We are a California Non Profit Public Benefit Corporation which IRS deems to be tax exempt. We major in starting and developing support groups for people with peripheral neuropathy and those who care about them. In the process we endeavor to make connections with the health care community to better serve our members and to inform the health care community about "this mst common disease you've never heard of." With approximately 2 million people in California suffering from neuropathy, it is amazing how many people have never heard about it. Many know someone with the symptoms but may not know there is a name for this. We are led by a Board of Directors now numbering 6. These people have a variety of skills and contually upgrade the organization.
