Wanted: One warm and caring volunteer with a trained therapy dog that loves children and works well with other animals for our Afternoon Reading Fun! (ARF!), read to a dog program for school age children. ARF! takes place weekly in the Children’s Library for children in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. ARF! is an ongoing program that relies on committed volunteers to come for scheduled dates. We are currently recruiting for two teams, one team to help be a backup team for the regular ARF! team in the Children’s Library; the other team will help with monthly Thursday outreach visits at FISH.
Volunteer dogs must be certified through a national organization that carries insurance for volunteers to work in public spaces, such as libraries and hospitals. To find out more about the ARF!, visit the Children’s Library website www.broomfieldchildrenslibrary.org and look under "Ongoing Programs". If you are interested in interviewing for the available volunteer position, please get in touch.More opportunities with Broomfield Library
