Bay Area South Asian Film Festival is a platform that creates possibilities for South Asian storytelling for the larger American diaspora. We host forays into South Asian Films and culture through our extensive network of lovers of South Asian cinema.
San Francisco Bay Area metropolitan region is arguably the home of the nation's largest and most prosperous South Asian and Indian community. The goal of Bay Area South Asian Film Festival (BASAFF) is to leverage the rich cultural diversity and help Indian and South Asian films to grow their market in this part of the world. We also realize that there is a large untapped non-diaspora American audience for Indian films. As Indian movies evolve in technical excellence, this audience becomes a bigger prospect for our cinema. We believe that with the advancement in technology and globalization, the dream of storytelling through movies is no longer a distant one. With the proper platform and planning, your story truly has the potential to become a global story. This is where BASAFF wants to create a mark by providing a global platform where the spirit of movies is celebrated.

Location:
7 RIVERWAY UNIT 2008, HOUSTON, TX 77056, US
Mission Statement
EnActe Arts was founded in 2012 in response to the underrepresentation in theater of South Asians and their respective storytelling. It differentiated itself from other "South Asian" theater companies by being an American Contemporary Theater Company that embraces a diverse stakeholder group, casting beyond the South Asian community, and fostering collaboration.
Description
EnActe Arts is a talent incubator and a platform for engaging diverse populations in conversations on
social issues to create greater awareness and tolerance from a South Asian perspective.
Both EnActe’s performance programs and EnActe Academy are rooted in developing talent and creating
opportunities for actors, playwrights, and creative and technical production staff at any skill level and of all ages and ethnicities.
Participants of EnActe’s professional development experiences have gone on to paid professional positions, including joining the paid staff of theater and non-profit professionals at EnActe Arts.
From EnActe Art’s off stage home, known as the EnActerium, EnActe has produced and performed shows in various cities including Houston, San Francisco, San Jose, Boston, Exeter, and Seattle.
Many of these productions were presented in partnership with distinguished universities and arts organizations such as Emerson Arts College, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, Asian Art Museum (SF), Philip Exeter Academy, The Menil Collection (Houston), and Seattle Asian Art Museum.
EnActe Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization co-located in Silicon Valley, California and Houston, Texas. The term 'South Asian’ is used broadly by EnActe Arts to represent the people of the greater Indian subcontinent living in the region and abroad, including the historical cultural influences of the region.
