Our facility works entirely on volunteers. We are looking for a full time Volunteer to work in a non-paid position as a Volunteer Coordinator. Working as a volunteer coordinator, you'll manage all elements of volunteering either within our organization or on behalf of the organization for which you are recruiting volunteers.
The role involves assessing and meeting our organization’s needs through the recruitment, placement, training, retention and recognition of volunteers. Making sure those who are giving us their time have all the necessary tools and information to do good. Ensuring the volunteers feel appreciated and valued. We are looking for someone with good communication skills, patience, ability to train people and a good attitude.
Having a dependable vehicle is important as well in the event a feeder cannot show that you will be able to cover for them at the last minute because our animals depend on us to feed and water them. Managing people can be a challenging position that can be rewarding by encouraging and developing youth.

Location:

Mission Statement
Saddles of Joy offers riding lessons to special needs and typical riders of all ages. We welcome volunteers, including those without horse experience! If you are enthusiastic, patient, and willing to learn, we will be happy to teach you. Interested people should bring their skills and enthusiasm to help us clean, socialize, and care for the animals that call Saddles home. Volunteers clean stalls, feed horses, help groom horses, and perform extra chores and miscellaneous tasks around the farm.
Description
What's in it for you:
1. You will learn everything about horses, including how to take care of them, how their minds work as prey animals, how they communicate, what they eat, what kinds of medical challenges can arise and how to treat them, how to groom and clean their feet, etc. If you are interested in riding, but would like to know about how to take care of them first, this is an excellent opportunity.
2. The team is highly motivated and supportive. They love animals and are dedicated to their work. Our team is very close-knit, and we welcome you with open arms.
3. We will allow you to work with the horses one-on-one. At Saddles, volunteers are encouraged to spend time with the horses. In their stalls, you can get close to them, share with them your secrets, and soak in their healing energy. Enjoy free equine therapy!
4. By helping, you will be making a huge impact. Be a part of our mission to provide healing, hope, and happiness to people who just need a little help by joining us today.
