WellFound is a small UK based charity working in West Africa. WellFound is more than a water charity. In addition to supplying communities with clean and safe drinking water, our projects also address women's empowerment and gender equality, nutrition, sanitation and hygiene, and improved opportunities for people in marginalised communities. The role of the Social Media & Communications Volunteer will be to work alongside WellFound staff to create engaging and informative digital media which will promote WellFound's work in rural sustainable development in West Africa. We are looking for an enthusiastic self starter with a flare for social media and producing digital content. In addition to managing WellFound's social media platforms, the Social Media & Communications Volunteer will also contribute towards newsletters, online campaigns and producing promotional materials. This role is a fantastic way to grow your CV whilst working with a sociable and friendly team and contributing towards improving the lives of those living in rural West Africa.

Some responsibilities of the role will be:
-Work with the Marketing Manager to further improve social media presence, increase the number of followers and drive more engagement across existing and new channels.
-Keep Social Media accounts up to date and promote WellFound via our Social Media Channels
-Create content for our website if necessary - Experience with WordPress is an advantage
-Measure and report performance of digital marketing activities and campaigns via social media and google analytics
-Assist staff in creating media to promote for upcoming events and launches
-Market research - Help generate new ideas for the charity
-Design marketing material for various projects, including leaflets and banners
-Contribute to quarterly newsletters and donor reports
-Contribute to various online crowdfunding and pledge campaigns

Hours for this role are flexible and performance will be measured in content created and work completed rather than hours worked. Office hours are Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. but as this opportunity is marketing and social media, some of this can be undertaken on various days at various times, often from home so there is room for flexibility. There will need to be some travel to office but a lot can be done from home. Start date is flexible but preferably mid to late September.

Mission Statement

WellFound operates in the very remotest parts of the countries we work in. We believe that with limited resources, greater impact can be made if we work with the most vulnerable communities. We follow these three principles in our work: Partnership - we work with communities, local organisations and also with other religious establishments to ensure the projects we do are sustainable; Equality - based on our Christian principles, we provide services for all, irrespective of their race, gender or beliefs; Commitment - we commit to communities to maximise the opportunities given to them, and we commit to our donors that 100% of their donations are spent on projects.
