Food Not Bombs is a grassroots, volunteer run organization with chapters all over the world, and we share free food with anyone who needs it, no questions asked. We believe that food is a human right, and that poverty is a form of violence. We want to see a shift away from spending resources on endless war, and toward meeting people's basic needs. We host four food shares a month: two Sundays in Willoughby, and two Sundays in the St. Clair neighborhood. We will get you into a Zoom orientation, then signed up for volunteer activities.

Mission Statement
Food Not Bombs is a "solidarity, not charity" organization that believes food is a human right. We want to see a move away from endless war and toward meeting people's basic needs.
Description
We aim to eliminate food waste by picking up food that businesses would normally throw away, sorting through it, and sharing it with our neighbors. We never ask anyone for ID or documentation to prove they deserve food. Most of our volunteers live at or below the poverty line, so we are familiar with the struggles of trying to jump through the hoops required by many food assistance programs. We try to provide an alternative to religious and governmental organizations, to share food with people who can't meet the criteria of traditional programs.
