Halcyon Hospice & Palliative Care is a nonprofit, in-home hospice serving patients throughout Colorado. All hospice related training and requirements are provided by Halcyon Hospice.
Art and Activities assistant volunteers help our patients to continue enjoying their favorite activities and Arts & crafts in group settings and at beside. There are a variety of ways that volunteers assist with this. Some patients want company to have coffee and chat with, or to be read to, or to sit in the courtyard or go for walks with, or they need help painting their nails, or writing a letter, some want a volunteer to sit with them and assist at group activities like bingo, arts & crafts, book club, or socials. The opportunities are endless!
This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to gain experience in activity management, hospice or healthcare, social work, nursing, chaplaincy, or geriatrics. Our volunteers become part of our hospice team, gaining knowledge and confidence in the healthcare field. The position is truly a great way to make a difference in someone's life and brighten their day.
Seeking help in North Denver, Boulder, Northglenn, Westminster, Thornton, Evergreen, Broomfield, Brighton, Longmont, Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Golden, and more!
Feel free to email Volunteer Manager Angela Caudill at the Halcyon Aurora office (angelacaudill@myhalcyon.org) with any questions or concerns. Volunteers are needed on an on-going basis and we ask that you participate in a patient visit at least 2-3 times per month, though we are very flexible.

Mission Statement
Halcyon Hospice is committed to a standard of excellence in providing sensitive, patient centered health care to hospice patients and families.
Description
Hospice care does not seek to cure, does not seek to hasten or prolong, but instead offers comfort and support for patients and their families. Hospice facilitates emotional and spiritual growth while physical conditions change. Hospice care is provided everywhere. The hospice team specializes in the physical, social, spiritual and emotional care of the patient and family, with professionals and volunteers available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Hospice care honors the potential for growth in this cycle of life, bringing a clinically-directed, interdisciplinary team to nurture, support, and heal during the last stages of an illness and bereavement period. Non-discriminatory, hospice offers palliative care without regard to age, gender, nationality, race, creed, sexual orientation, disability, diagnosis, availability of a primary caregiver, or ability to pay.
Flexible schedules near your home (we serve the entire front range from Fort Collins to Castle Rock)
