Halcyon Hospice and Palliative Care
Our Mission Statement

Halcyon Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking certified pet therapy volunteers to spend time with our in-home hospice patients! We have patients throughout North Denver and Boulder. Volunteers will attend a required training and orientation, and must have the proper licenses/certifications for their pets. Patients are located in their own homes, assisted living homes, and other hospice locations, so we will work with the volunteer to pair you with patients in your area.

Seeking help in North Denver, Boulder, Northglenn, Westminster, Thornton, Evergreen, Broomfield, Brighton, Longmont, Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Golden, and more!

Feel free to email Angela Caudill at the Halcyon Northglenn office (angelacaudill@myhalcyon.org) with any questions or concerns. Volunteers are needed on an on-going basis and we ask that you participate in a patient visit at least 2-3 times per month, though we are very flexible.

Mission Statement

Halcyon Hospice is committed to a standard of excellence in providing sensitive, patient centered health care to hospice patients and families.

Description

Hospice care does not seek to cure, does not seek to hasten or prolong, but instead offers comfort and support for patients and their families. Hospice facilitates emotional and spiritual growth while physical conditions change. Hospice care is provided everywhere. The hospice team specializes in the physical, social, spiritual and emotional care of the patient and family, with professionals and volunteers available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Hospice care honors the potential for growth in this cycle of life, bringing a clinically-directed, interdisciplinary team to nurture, support, and heal during the last stages of an illness and bereavement period. Non-discriminatory, hospice offers palliative care without regard to age, gender, nationality, race, creed, sexual orientation, disability, diagnosis, availability of a primary caregiver, or ability to pay.
