The Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness, a non-profit wellness facility, is the host of three on-going Parkinson’s Disease Classes: PWR!Moves, Rock Steady Boxing, and Pedaling for Parkinson’s. These exercise classes have been proven to delay the effects of Parkinson’s disease (Parkinson’s is an incurable disease). Currently, the program has 33 participants and it is growing by 2-3 people a week. These are the only programs within a 2 hour drive and many of the participants travel over ½ hour to participate. With the growing number of participants the program is in need of volunteers looking to serve 3-10 hours a week (day time hours). Most of the participants are in need a 'corner man’, someone to help them get through the class and support them as needed. We are looking for caring, compassionate, and relatively fit/able people. If interested please email: Robin Barth at robin.barth@millerrec.org.
