Can you read aloud in such a way that you can see the person transported into the story? What do you think about reading to a group of residents with Alzheimer's / dementia who would be carried away from their illness -- even if temporarily-- by the sound of your voice? Contact me now if you're interested. We're looking for volunteers to read to residents on a rotating basis: Mondays from 10am-12pm at Bear Creek Memory Care.
Training and reading material provided. You bring your inflection, compassion and mad, mad skills of conveying a story so residents can't resist!
Take a person away from illness by reading!
