Washington State Smile Partners is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, providing low-income children access to preventive Oral Health Services through mobile clinics. By bringing professional dental teams into schools, Smile Partners aims to eliminate barriers to oral health care and spread healthy smiles across the Puget Sound area.
We can’t do it alone - we need your support. Washington State Smile Partners is looking for Board members for our growing charitable organization. The primary responsibilities of a Board member is to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of Smile Partners, so as to support the organization’s mission and needs.
You just need a little time, a little energy, and a lot of passion!

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, human resources and secretarial duties. Prior Board experience is preferred, but not necessary
We expect board members to commit to serve at least one year. Attend monthly board meeting (location: Downtown Seattle). The commitment is about 5 hours a month.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Organizational leadership and advisement
- Organization of the board of directors, officers, and committees
- Formulation and oversight of policies and procedures
- Financial management, including adoption and oversight of the annual budget
- Oversight of program planning and evaluation
- Personnel evaluation and staff development
- Review of organizational and programmatic reports
- Promotion of the organization
- Fundraising and outreach
- Ensure adequate resources
- Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability
- Ensure effective organizational planning
- Recruit and orient new board members and assess board performance
- Enhance the organization’s public standing
- Determine, monitor, and strengthen the organization’s programs and services
