Each patient and family member served by Hospice with heart received care from a team of staff and volunteers who provide expert medical care, pain management, emotional support and spiritual guidance. Volunteers play an important role, enhancing quality of life for patients and families.
Each visit, hand held, cookie baked, errand completed or song sung makes a difference to our patients and their families. Support comes in many ways. Below is listed some of the ways volunteers can help:
Talk and read to patients
Sit with patients while family steps out for a bit
Perform light housekeeping duties
Run errands or transport patients
Bring baked goods to patients and families
Provide ongoing support for bereavement to families
With your pet, serve as a certified pet visitor
Help out with office duties
Sewing quilts for patients
Knitting items for patients
