HELP US SPREAD HEALTHY SMILES ACROSS SCHOOLS IN THE PUGET SOUND, BECOME A SMILE PARTNERS TOOTH FAIRY!

We are searching for volunteers to support our Dental Hygienist out in the field as they provide low income children access to preventive oral health services, directly to students at their schools.

This position is primarily responsible for the coordination of client activities performed in mobile school based clinic settings, including liaison with school staff, delivery of oral health educational materials, advocacy of programs, data collection, and computer entry. This position is also responsible for forms, supplies, and mobile equipment.

On site clinic support:

  1. set up and take down portable dental equipment
  2. collect student's from their class rooms and escort them to the clinic location as well as returning them to their class after their visit
  3. monitor and engage with students waiting to receive services, assist with making children comfortable and ease any nervousness with fumor and comfort
  4. prepare and provide students with gift bags, reports, and/or appropriate handouts.
  5. Assist hygienist with case management for urgent need clients, notifying school nurse and providing student with appropriate resource handouts
  6. Assist hygienist in charting services within our electronic health records
Remote administrative support:
  1. insurance verification
  2. scheduling appointments
  3. collecting consent forms and creating patient charts within our electronic records
Locations: Sites vary week to week, please see program description of service areas. We will work with your prefered service area and schedule.

Shifts: We operate on the school's schedule, providing services between 8am and 3pm, Monday through Friday, with school breaks and holidays off.

We have two programs you can choose to serve:

(1)School-Based Sealant Program
In the 2018-19 school year, we will serve over 5,000 children across 54 elementary schools within the Highline, Auburn, Federal Way and Tukwila school districts. Clinics can be at a school site for 1 to 2 weeks providing services and coordinating care.

(2)Preschool Oral Health Program
With over 83 preschool, Headstarts, and ECEAP sites across Kitsap, King, and Snohomish counties, our Hygienist provide oral health services to over 6,000 children, as well as educational and resources support to parents and families. Clinic days for each site, typically last for only a day and may only be half days.

Orientation & training provided! No prior knowledge or experience in the dental field necessary.
