Join us and visit the museum as an honored guest. Interested volunteers will be invited to meet with staff and learn about opportunities, while exploring exhibitions. *Downtown parking provided, RSVP required.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., enjoy free family fun and take-home activities*: * Make beeswax candles, pioneer-style * Sample Florida honey, including orange blossom, sea grape, saw palmetto, tupelo, and wildflower varieties * "Meet" the legendary citrus grower Dr. Phillips * Spin a prize wheel and learn fascinating facts about honey * Receive take-home treats including a honey sample, recipe booklet, seed packet and sticker

Folks from Black Bee Honey in Orlando and the Dutch Mill Nursery in Sanford will be on hand and offer their hometown honey for sale. Thanks too to our sponsors: the Florida Wildflower Foundation, the National Honey Board, and the Orange Blossom Beekeepers Association

*Craft supplies and take-home treats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The mission of the Orange County Regional History Center is to serve as the gateway for community engagement, education, and inspiration by preserving and sharing Central Florida’s continually unfolding story.

Description

The Orange County Regional History Center is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and a member of the American Alliance of Museums. The History Center includes a museum in a historic courthouse, the collection of the Historical Society of Central Florida, the Joseph L. Brechner Research Library, and Heritage Square park. It advances its mission through wide-ranging programs, permanent and traveling exhibits, and limited-run exhibitions from other prestigious institutions.
