Intern Job Description: Marketing and Communications Intern
Nuçi’s Space is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to prevent suicide. To accomplish our mission, Nuçi’s Space maintains a health and resource center for musicians as a safe space to seek support and guidance, provides access to affordable, obstacle free professional care, and actively participates in treatment and educates about awareness, prevention and the risk factors of brain illnesses.
Position: Marketing and Communications Intern
Reports to: Executive Director
Description: Nuçi’s Space seeks motivated, self-starter to assist marketing and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing with a focus on digital media and marketing projects.
Responsibilities:
Update and maintain Nuçi’s Space’s social media presence, including website blog posts - Specifically, telling our story through different methods
Overseeing the design of flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing material for events hosted by Nuçi’s Space
Cultivate and centralize our brand and our voice to reach a broader audience
Attend monthly Marketing & Fundraising Committee meeting
Collaborating with staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications
Qualifications:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong Creativity
Completed or working toward a college degree related to Marketing/Communications,
Public Relations or related field
Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space
Working Knowledge of website management (WordPress, basic HTML, etc.) and Adobe software, Graphic Design a plus
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team environment
Self-motivated, resourceful, good organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
Enthusiasm for the mission of Nuçi’s Space and the musicians we serve
Start Date: Position open until filled
Hours: 8-10 hours per week, some weekend hours and hours outside of office hours (10-6pm)
Compensation: This is an Unpaid/Volunteer internship

Mission Statement
Nuçi's Space is a non-profit support/resource center for musicians in Athens, Georgia. It was founded in memory of 22-year old musician Nuçi Phillips who took his own life in 1996 after battling major depression. The aim of the organization is to prevent suicide by providing obstacle free treatment for musicians suffering from depression and other such disorders as well as to assist in the emotional, physical and professional well-being of musicians. Nuçi's Space provides: Low cost mental health counseling referral service Inexpensive rehearsal facilities Performance area Coffee lounge Music/self-help library Music and health related workshops Support groups Volunteer physicians to treat minor illnesses of uninsured musicians Opportunities to educate and destigmatize mental illness not only in the music community but in the community as a whole.
