Event Description:
The annual International Festival of Raleigh offers three days of international performances, food, games, art, cultural exhibits and shopping at the Raleigh Convention Center. Over 50 Triangle communities from Afghan to Vietnamese participate to showcase their cuisine, dance, and music; to share traditions and friendship; and to celebrate the Triangle’s unique diversity.
Each year, the Festival is created around a central theme that is reflected in its displays and activities. The theme for 2018 is Celebrations around the World, and our international communities will share what and how their cultures celebrate through exhibits and art.
Volunteer Impact: Each year the Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department (PRCR) provides programming for Sophia's Corner, the children's area of the festival. Through arts and crafts, games, activities, and more, young visitors to the festival can explore their creativity while learning about the many programs and services offered by PRCR.
