The 20th Annual JDRF Hope Gala will be held on October 13, 2018. We are in need of volunteers to assist during the event and with set-up and tear down. The event features live & silent auctions, dinner & entertainment. We expect approximately 450 guests and hope to raise over $500,000 for type 1 diabetes research in a single night. Mission Statement
JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, policy influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D.
Description
The JDRF Greater Iowa Chapter was established by a group of dedicated volunteers in 1984. Our chapter contributes over $2.1 million annually to diabetes research. Each year we strive to increase that figure and move closer to a cure for type 1 diabetes. In addition to raising money for research, our professional staff, board and volunteers also provide support and education to the community regarding diabetes and its complications.
