Position: Social Media Engagement Volunteer

Reports To: PSS’ Communications Department

Location: Duties can be performed remotely or at our Administrative Office, 65 Broadway, NY

General Purpose: Posting information about PSS events on media community calendars is essential yet highly time consuming because each publication/channel has its own template and must be input one by one. This need is growing immensely as we start expanding our programming and events.

Expectations: We are looking for a volunteer who can increase our social media engagement and presence. The volunteer will primarily post under the direction of the Senior Director of Communications, as well as help us improve our social media engagement by monitoring activity on relevant Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
• Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
• Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community

Time Commitment: Volunteers must be able to work at least 10 hours a week.

Support: Will be provided as needed.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Proven working experience in social media or related field
• Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
• Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
• Positive attitude, volunteer spirit and good multitasking abilities
