ORGANIZATION: ECHO of Brandon

Purpose/Objective: The Client Center Team Member supports ECHO’s entire fundamental programming through careful, thorough, caring, screening and needs assessment at our first point of contact.

Reports to: Opportunity Manager

Key Responsibilities:
In a very pleasant fashion, greet all clients as they enter the doors of ECHO
Adhere to all validation process requirements to ensure proper services are provided
Answer our phones, route calls, answer questions, and provide service suggestions to callers
Work hands-on in our client database and ensure accurate and timely completion of data input
Share knowledge of other non-profits supporting the needs of our community
Daily data entry of all client activity
Work schedule is from 8:15am-1: 00 pm

Qualifications:
Computer skills - Proficiency in typing and data collection on a PC.

Interpersonal skills - Must be comfortable asking sensitive questions.

Critical thinking - The ability to find solutions and connect clients with additional community resources.

Compassion - The Client Center is the front door of ECHO. Sad stories are abundant. Volunteers must possess an extraordinary amount of patience, compassion, understanding, and demonstrate a true desire and willingness to help everyone that comes in our doors.

Organization - Multiple clients are assisted each day. Must possess the ability to keep records accurately and the workstation in an orderly manner.

Strong Communication Skills - Strong verbal skills with knowledge of Spanish a plus.

Must be 21 years of age or older and a background check will be done

Support Provided:
An ECHO tour with explanations of all services provided to our clients

Mandatory 8 hour Unity database training held offsite

3 weeks of on the job training with a seasoned volunteer

Description

Established in 1987, the Emergency Care Help Organization (E.C.H.O.) of Brandon is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community emergency food and disaster relief organization. Families who are having trouble making ends meet are given food, clothing, and household items assistance. E.C.H.O. provides help to Greater Brandon area single parents, homeless persons, retirees, families in transition, under-employed and unemployed households, grandparents raising grandchildren and others in need.
