Looking for subject consultants or information specialists that are interested in
supporting people with disabilities to research what they may need to know about their conditions, symptoms, medications etc. You can't just support them with what you think or feel, but does the research reveal what do the experts know.
This role will require you to stay up-to-date on a particular area of health and conduct research online to verify the information first before providing a response to an answer.
You will research associations, newest literature, current medications that help others learn to live with their health conditions.
At DisabledCommunity.Org, we are looking for people who will learn/know WordPress in order to document useful information about a particular condition, disease, or injury. You will also be responsible for checking into the forum daily to moderate questions, seek answers.
Your role will not to give medical advice, but to help support the community, by finding research and experts that might help a person in need.

DisabledCommunity.Org (DCO) is a federally recognized 501 C 3 organization. DCO’s mission is to provide a support network of services, education & employment for medical providers who serve people in pain and their communities. DCO sponsors the Pain Free Clinic. The mission of Pain Free Clinic is to treat individuals struggling with pain, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Pain Free Clinic is planning to operate through community based clinics, pop up programs at partner sites, house-calls, and scheduled or walk in treatments at the clinic itself. Pain Free Clinic offers civic minded acupuncturists an opportunity to treat under-served patients in need.
Description
Since 2004, the mission of DisabledCommunity.Org (DCO) has been to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities. Over the past decade, DCO provided information and referral services, educational forums and training for people with disabilities to learn how to run an online business.
When our Executive Director headed back to school to become trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the organization is being transformed from disability services into a medical clinic to help treat people in pain.
DisabledCommunity.Org’s Board of Directors is moving forward with our goal of supporting the goals and vision of a Pain Free Clinic.
