This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with an organization that is at the leading-edge of practical domestic micro finance work. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented community member or student interested in nonprofit management, outreach, marketing and micro enterprise to be part of a committed and professional team. Applicants must be enthusiastic and have excellent people, writing and organizational skills. This position may present the opportunity grow into part or full time employment as RMMFI grows.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Fundraising Volunteer provides support to RMMFI’s Development Coordinator and Development Director in the following areas:

  • Researching potential business and foundation funders;
  • Guided by training, submitting grant proposals;
  • Data entry of donations using Salesforce;
  • Mailings using EMMA
  • Event logistics;
  • Securing silent auction items;
  • Interviewing program graduates and writing blog posts
  • Other duties as assigned

RMMFI doesn’t just invest in businesses; we invest in people, and we do it with more than dollars. We view entrepreneurship as a system of people, businesses, and community, and our holistic approach brings these elements together to allow individuals to tap into the social and economic benefits of business ownership. Our goal is to help entrepreneurs grow into business owners who can successfully shift and adapt to changing environments in their businesses and their lives. We know that personal foundations are essential for success, and RMMFI works with entrepreneurs to develop their personal stability, entrepreneurial spark, and business feasibility.

In 15 years, RMMFI is proud to have:

  • Graduated 69 cohorts of Business Launch Boot Camp with an 85% graduation rate, resulting in the launch or expansion of 550 businesses across Colorado
  • Distributed $1,263,823 in 388 loans to low-income entrepreneurs with a 95% repayment rate plus $436,500 in grants
  • Become a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with the U.S. Treasury
  • Been appointed to the Colorado Office of Financial Empowerment Advisory Council
  • Received the 2023 Neighborhood Builders(r) Award from Bank of America
  • Won the 2023 Impact100 Award from Impact100 Metro Denver
