NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) of Seattle is looking for volunteer Somali and Vietnamese translators for a short resource guide project. The project will help people in King County who speak these languages navigate the mental health system and other resources!

Some research into resources accessible to these language speakers will be needed, as well as periodic in-person meetings with the NAMI Seattle Volunteer and Resource Coordinator (Faarah Misbah, faarah@namiseattle.org). Some formatting and design knowledge are desirable but not required. The resource guide translation will be based on an existing one-page English language resource guide, viewable here:

This project will be a minimum 1-month commitment with flexible hours and will likely span no more than 4 months. The volunteers will mostly be working remotely.

If you are interested and can speak and write fluently in Somali or Vietnamese & are proficient in English, please apply now or contact faarah@namiseattle.org to begin the application process.

Note: Please make sure to write "resource guide translator" in the "other" box for skills you’d like to utilize.
