Girl Scouts volunteers from around Montgomery County are organizing a Day of Service for Girl Scouts grades K-12 and need help with a variety of activities - helping girls do campground upkeep, supervising craft stations, making sandwiches, and helping other volunteers find the parking lot! If you are interested in crafting, gardening, outdoor cleanup, or DIY fix-it skills - we will find something that fits your interests and abilities! This event is intended to have girls of all ages do service work together. Some girls will be hosting stations while others circulate and help complete projects.
When they’re advocating for our communities, discovering the outdoors, exploring science and technology, or powering new adventures as part of the Girl Scout Cookie Program, Girl Scouts discover they can achieve anything! Girl-led, expert-approved, and volunteer-supported, Girl Scouts helps girls discover their strengths and change the world.

Mission Statement
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We seek to accomplish this by providing girls opportunities to develop their potential and have fun with their peers in a supportive, all-girl setting.
Description
Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
