ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association Oregon & SW Washington Chapter

Memories in the Making(r) is fine-arts program specifically designed for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. MIM transcends traditional arts-and-crafts classes, as it provides a creative and nonverbal way to communicate and capture precious moments through art. The program is proven to be beneficial and therapeutic, and it can stimulate the brains of individuals with dementia. With MIM, the creative process and the stories that evolve from it are as important and meaningful as the artwork itself. We are looking for someone to facilitate this time, befriend our participants, and help them artistically when they get "stuck".

Memories in the Making meets in the Alzheimer’s Association Portland Office from 11:00-12:30 pm on Fridays from September 14th through November 2nd.
