Our Friendly visiting Program matches volunteers with homebound seniors for one hour per week to help lessen their social isolation. These gentlemen could really use a friend. Each volunteer is matched with one senior so this is a new future friendship for the client AND the volunteer! Easy ways to spend time with your senior friend could include walking, chatting, watching a baseball game, discussing current events, playing cards..the list is endless as to what your hour can do for our clients.

We currently have opportunities in Oakland Gardens, Queens Village, Glen Oaks, Little Neck, Jamaica, Jamaica Estates, Springfield Gardens, Bellerose and Cambria Heights,

If you speak Italian, Spanish or Hindi, are good on the computer, like sports, current events , playing cards, walking, or have some experience with seniors suffering from hearing, vision or memory loss, these are some of the people you can help. Even if you have none of the above but would like to help, I'm sure we can use your good ear and warm heart!
