Mint Artists tent
Mint Artists sell their work at the Palmer Park Art Fair.

About five young artists will sell their creative work during this art fair; volunteers on Friday may help with set up and / or sell our greeting cards and Mint prints. On Saturday and Sunday, volunteers will sell Mint greeting cards, collect donations and share our story. They may also "booth sit" so the young artist may visit the fair or get some food.

Volunteers could be asked to help with hands on art activities or to provide on the spot coaching to young artists, if they have sales tips or motivational ideas to share.

Volunteers also give our tiny staff (one half time person) a chance to take a break, take a nap and escape for an hour or so.

Must be comfortable with teens, outgoing and interested in learning more about Mint Artists Guild.

About MINT ARTISTS GUILD

Location:

PO Box 21667, Detroit, MI 48221, US

Mission Statement

Mint Artists Guild helps to transform aspiring Detroit youth artists through education, exceptional engagement and experience, resulting in earning opportunities, skill-building, exposure, and mentoring. Mint launches creative careers and lasting connections. Mint also infuses the community with art and creative experiences, enhancing a collaborative, healthy and generous culture.

Description

Mint works with artists ages 13 to 23 on entrepreneurial, career and life skills, and gives them opportunities to sell their creative work. A summer jobs program, business workshops and online educational and informational resources are offered to young visual artists. In 2020, we launched the Metro Detroit Youth Arts Competition, a creative activity kit giveaway (of 5,500 kits) and in 2021, we launched leadership development training. This year, we are working on an alumni engagement program, adding creative jobs to our website and so much more. We need your help and support to continue our growth!
